Oven Mountain Pumped Hydro Energy Storage, Carrai, NSW

Land geophysical investigation to assist in the characterisation of rock and weathering profile and potential faulting to facilitate the design of the planned Dams and Reservoirs.
This was carried out using a conventional sledgehammer. Depth of investigation up to 40m.
The investigation was carried out in extremely challenging terrain, e.g., very steep slopes, remote location (no communication), river crossing and very dense vegetation. This required use of 8WD vehicle and many hours walking with the equipment.
Scurbat also carried out all the required vegetation clearing along the seismic lines, including clearing and mapping new access roads to the various sites.
A very remote location requiring the provision of full camping facility to facilitate access to site.
