Seismic investigation (i.e., downhole seismic) for the characterisation of rock and weathering profile to assist in the assessment of foundation construction to facilitate the design of the planned shoring piles.

This was carried out using a Seismic Weight Drop (SWD) system and conventional sledgehammer.

The investigation was carried out at night to allow normal work operations on site by the developer and to eliminate the “seismic noise”, which are inherent in a construction site.
