Case Study #33
Splityard Creek Pumped Hydro Storage, Wivenhoe Dam, QLD
Client:

Project Dates:
February 2024
Scope:
Highly detailed and extensive electrical resistivity investigation for the delineation of potential seepage pathways. Investigation carried out along the crest, downstream slope, stilling basing and abutments to assist performance and reinstatement of the dam wall horizontal drainage system to the original design, as well as introducing monitoring to check if seepage flow increases to the historic norms after reinstatement.
Depth to rock, and to potentially identify structural features within the bedrock foundation, such as faults or zones of weakness.
Depth of investigation up to 60m.
Methodologies used:
- Electrical Resistivity Imaging (ERI)
- 2D
- 3D
- Dynamic Mise-a-la Masse
- Self-Potential (SP)
